Privacy Policy

Marketplace Assistant is a Chrome extension that helps a user copy the user’s own Facebook Marketplace vehicle and general-item listings into new drafts for review.

1. Data processed

Marketplace listing content

When a user starts a scan, the extension processes visible listing summaries such as title, price, thumbnail, listing URL, date, and status. For a user-selected listing it processes the description, available category or vehicle attributes, approximate listing location, and photographs. This content is used only for the requested workflow.

Optional account and service data

Account features may be hidden during the free beta. If used, Supabase processes the email address, password, user ID, session tokens, and Free/Pro status. Passwords go directly to Supabase over HTTPS and are not stored by the extension. Facebook passwords, cookies, and access tokens are not collected.

Voluntary support requests may include the submitted subject and message, account ID and email when signed in, interface language, version, and time. The extension may download announcements and store a signed-in user’s voluntary poll choice.

Diagnostics and local data

For signed-in users, unexpected errors may send a limited diagnostic report containing version, browser user-agent, language, component, operation, workflow status, sanitized error and stack trace, time, and a duplicate fingerprint. Tokens, email addresses, long identifiers, and full URLs are redacted. Diagnostics never include listing photos, messages, credentials, general browsing history, mouse movements, or keystrokes.

Chrome extension storage may contain preferences, an optional account session, user-selected listing summaries and URLs, copied content, temporary photos, workflow state, the last failed step, local operation history, productivity summaries, announcements, and locally calculated listing-quality suggestions. Quality results are not uploaded.

If the optional photo helper is running, selected photo data may be sent to 127.0.0.1 on the same device to create temporary attachment files. This transfer stays on the device.

The Donate button opens a Stripe-hosted page. Payment details go directly to Stripe and are not received or stored by the extension.

2. How data is used

The extension does not automatically publish or delete listings, message buyers, build advertising profiles, determine creditworthiness, or use data for unrelated purposes.

3. Storage and retention

Listing content, photographs, workflow data, local history, and preferences stay in Chrome storage, Chrome-managed downloads, or temporary local files until replaced, cleared, or the extension is uninstalled. Temporary files are removed after the operation where possible.

Optional account, poll, support, and sanitized diagnostic records are stored in Supabase over HTTPS with authenticated requests and row-level access controls. Support and diagnostic records may be retained for up to 12 months unless longer retention is necessary for an open support or security issue or required by law.

4. Sharing and disclosure

The developer does not sell, rent, or use user data for advertising. Data is disclosed only to Supabase for optional service features, Stripe for a user-initiated donation, Meta/Facebook during the requested Marketplace workflow, or as reasonably required by law or security needs. Use and transfer comply with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including Limited Use requirements.

5. User choices and deletion

Users can stop workflows, retry or dismiss failures, choose whether to vote, dismiss announcements, sign out, clear extension storage, or uninstall. To request access, correction, or deletion of remotely stored data, email [email protected] from the account email address.

6. Third parties

See the Meta Privacy Policy, Supabase Privacy Policy, and Stripe Privacy Policy. Marketplace Assistant is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Meta or Facebook.

7. Changes and contact

This policy may be updated when data practices change. Material changes will be disclosed through the extension or Chrome Web Store listing when required.
